About the Book
In 2012, I was forced into a situation completely out of my control, and I ended up in a very dark place mentally. I found myself needing assurances from everyone around me, that everything was going to be okay.
When those assurances didn’t come, I began spiraling out of control into hysteria. Instead of trusting the word of God, I allowed others to fill me with doubt, ultimately which resulted in my faith being destroyed. Three simple words had managed to push me over the edge into disbelief.
I had been seeking words of encouragement, but instead became infected with someone else’s doubt. I wanted to die in that moment. With uncontrollable tears and pain washing over me, my sister sternly asked me one simple question, “Who are you going to believe, God or everyone else!” Her words felt like a much needed slap to my face and their impact on me was instantaneous. It was then that God stepped forward in a mighty way speaking inaudibly to me that I was going to write a book about what was happening in my life and that book would be titled, Doubting Faithful.
In that instance, I saw a vision of a man kneeling with one hand heavenward and the other behind his back with fingers crossed. That vision and that assurance from God that everything was going to be okay, washed over me, calming my fears. I knew exactly what God was needing me to understand by that vision of a man with fingers crossed, either I was going to believe or not believe in Him and His promises. I chose to believe and that changed everything. In reading Doubting Faithful, it is my hope that you too will allow yourself to believe God and His word regardless of those around you who doubt. Faith is something that no one can give you and once you trust God, it is something that no one can take.
You may find yourself in disbelief as you read Doubting Faithful, but every single word of it is true. For those who doubt, may you find a reason to believe and for those who waver in their belief, may you find a reason to believe again.
