About the Author
If you’ve happened upon my site, you may be wondering who I am. Given the type of stories that I am best known for, I am considered to be an inspirational author. You may be familiar with some of my more popular stories, such as Daddy’s Day, Making Sarah Cry, The Most Beautiful Flower and Fingerpaints and Crayons (to name a few). Stories that were penned under the name, Cheryl Costello-Forshey. Although I am still that person, hopefully able to continue inspiring others through my stories; you perhaps may notice a difference in me that will be reflected in how I now write. Although it will forever be my desire to leave an impression on your heart with my words, the way in which I hope to do so has changed. My main focus now will be to share with you, stories from my own life. Unlike before, my stories were based on seeds of honesty, surrounded by fiction.
The majority of what you’ll read here is based completely on the truth of my life as a Christian, both the beauty and ugliness of it. This blog is about the many crossroads that I, as a Christian have faced. As well as my struggle, to keep my Christianity intact, during some very difficult times in my life. I still will include those stories familiar to me as a writer. You can find them by clicking on my Heart Impressions link. However, the blogging portion of my site will be truth, no fiction included.
Since blogging is all very new to me, I ask that you please bear with me through this learning phase. Honestly, I am still amazed that I managed to make my page live without any outside help. Actually, I did have help, it was God. It has been Him guiding me through this whole process, just as it was Him who moved me to do a blog in the first place.
So why on earth does God want me to do a blog? Me, a novice at social media. I don’t even have a Facebook account and dare I mention how flawed I am as a Christian? Of course, those flaws are exactly what qualifies me to do what God has been nudging me to, and that is to blog about my life as a Christian. A life that continues with its ups and downs, including my frustrations trying to navigate through the technology world. Feeling both duped and inadequate by all those countless videos out there assuring me that I could learn how to develop and maintain my website within thirty minutes. Alas, I proved them all wrong. There is a time to go it alone and a time to ask for help. God created us to be there for one another in times of need and I was fully aware that I needed further help to get this site completed. After all, I’m a writer, not a web designer. God has taught me through this process that it’s okay to both ask and to need help and failure isn’t based on what I haven’t accomplished, but instead on what I have. I accomplished much more than I could ever have imagined by taking these steps forward into a world that I know absolutely nothing about, but knowing that God knows all and He is with me.
If what I am saying has sparked your interest, or if you are a Christian in need of a faith boost, or you are wanting to establish your own relationship with God, please join me through this journey of blogging.
The stories you will read here are meant to encourage you, make you laugh, smile and possibly even cry. Most importantly, they are meant to show you exactly what a real Christian looks like, flaws and all, and hopefully to show you the beauty in allowing God into your life.
Once you allow Him in, you will realize that He is the only road to peace, and that being imperfect is perfectly okay
